and James Hunt is willing to sign the easement providing the City delete <br />his proposed assessments. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the City Attorney has stated that the City cannot <br />negotiate assessments for easements. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that the Hunt's have hired an appraisor to obtain a <br />valuation of what the property would be worth after improvements and <br />the City Attornay has advised that it would be beneficial for the City <br />to do the same. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter <br />authorizing City Staff to obtain an appraisal of the Hunt property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Schlueter, <br />Reimann, Sorteberg and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />! <br />! <br /> <br />Councilmember Jean Schlueter stated that she would like to explain and <br />the minutes to reflect why she voted 'no' to the motion to accept <br />Mr. Art Dunn's resignation and issue a letter of appreciation at the <br />Special Council Meeting of May 9, 1983. Councilmember Schlueter <br />stated that her no vote was to represent her opposition to Mr. Dunn's <br />resignation, not that she was opposed to issuing a letter of appreiciation. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter that there are still some items from the May 31, <br />1983 Council agenda that have not been acted on. <br /> <br />a) Council Old Business - Case #6b - Metro Council's recommendations <br /> for dealing with adverse impacts of solid waste disposal facilities: <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that a letter is being issued to the Solid Waste <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Cox stated that at the May 31, 1983 meeting he requested Council <br />to invite the Metro Council Mitigation and Litigation Committe to <br />conduct a public hearing in Ramsey, which is certainly warranted as <br />Ramsey is the only proposed site for a landfill in an Industrial area. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner <br />requesting Metro Council Mitigation and Litigation conduct a public <br />hearing in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />Reimann, Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Arnie Cox - Nowthen Blvd. N.W. - This special meeting tonight was to be <br />a joint meeting of various Ramsey Commissions and City Council to <br />be held at 7:30 p.m, it is now 9:15 p.m. and the joint discussions have <br />not begun yet. <br /> <br />b) Council Old Busines - Case #12a - Establishing Council standing <br /> committee policy: <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg informed Councilmember Schlueter that City <br />Staff will be preparing a proposed policy, as per direction of the <br />Personnel Committee at their meeting at 7:00 p.m. on June 6, 1983. <br /> <br />Sp C/June 6, 1983 <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
