COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS Case #9f: Reconsideration To Ex~and Street Improvement Project (Bituminous Surfacing) #83-15: Mr. Reed stated the Faith Baptist Church is subject to corporate action and is opposed to the proposed blacktopping. Councilmember Sorteberg stated that Mr. Haugtvedt is requesting the blacktop be extended one more lot %o the north and Mr. Haugtvedt has been contending with the dust created by church traffic for many years. Mr. Haugtvedt stated that he lives to the east of the church and the dust usually blows towards his property and as long as the blacktop is being brought so close to his property he would like his property to be included in the project. Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to adopt Resolution #83-113 amending Council Resolution #83-110 to add Mr. Haugtvedt's residence and the Faith Baptist Church property to Street Improvement Project #83-15. (Please refer to resolution file for Res. #83-113). Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Van Wagner. Council recessed at 9:35 P.m. Mayor Gamec called the regular Council meeting back to order at 9:50 p.m. COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS Case #9d: FeasibilityRe~ort On Drainage Pr0ble~.s Involving 180th Avenue NW~ Erkium Street NW and Ford Brook Estates: City Engineer Raatikka stated that he has talked with a contractor that estimated he could provide a drainage ditch towards the[~c~eek for~less than $1200.and this should keep the water table'down 1 or 2 feet. Mr. Raatikka also recommended that Burns Township share in the cost. Mr. Raatikka stated that if the City assesses the cost out, it will have to be to the entire benefitted area and a public hearing would be required. Mayor Gamec stated that assessing the cost out would end up costing the City more than if the City just pick up the cost. Jim Martin - Stated that Burns Township is a major contributor to the problem, that he has contacted Burns and they paSsed the responsibility on to Ramsey. Mr. Raatikka estimated that Burns Township is contributing 24% to the drainage problem. Mayor Gamec stated that he would contact Burns, that they have been very cooperative with Ramsey in the past, especially with regards to the senior citizen center. C/June 28, 1983 Page 9 of 20
