TO: FROM: Planning and Zoning Commissionmembers City Administrator RE: Commission Business Enclosure (D2-a) Information regarding proposed preliminary planned unit development; case of Rum River Hills CASE #1: APPROVAL OF CONCEPT FOR PROPOSED PRELIMINARY PLANNED UNIT DEVELOP- MENT, REQUEST FOR; CASE OF RUM RIVER HILLS: Exhibit "A" contains the proposed planned unit development (PUD) for Rum River Hills. Inasmuch as this is Ramsey's first proposed planned unit development, the Planning and Zoning Commission will be doing a conceptual review and then will also conduct the public hearing on the preliminary PUD which is in accordance with the Council Ordinance chang~79-15. Accordingly, an excerpt of City Code 170.01 entitled "Zoning" which pertains to the PUD and an excerpt of Ordinance change #79-15 are enclosed to assist Planning and Zoning Commissioners in the process- ing of this case. The time frame that is allocated in the ordinance will allow the Planning nad zoning Commission adequate time to give proper review and conduct the public hearing. The following is hereby submitted for your consideration as enclosure (D2-a): 1) Excerpt of City Code 170.01 entitled "Zoning" which per- tains to planned unit developments (PUD). 2) Excerpt of City Ordinance change #79-15 which establishes the Planning and Zoning Commission to conduct the public hearing. 3) Application for Rum River Hills PUD. 4) City Engineer Raatikka's letter dated July 6, 1983 regard- ing the Rum River Hills PUD. Commission Action: Your action will be as follows: 1) Give conceptual review of the PUD which will take into consideration the concerns that the. Ci. ty Engineer raised in his letter contained in enclosure (D2-a). 2) There are also some legal questions raised in regards to City park land which we hope to be able to comment on at the meeting.
