TO: <br /> <br />FROM: City Administrator <br /> <br />DATE: Nay 8, 1979 <br /> <br />RE: Agenda <br /> <br />Ramsey City Council and Economic Development Committee <br /> <br />1 ) This meeting is with the new Council representative to the Metro Couucil <br />Mr. Roger Scherer in regards to the following areas of interest to the City <br />of Ramsey: <br /> <br /> a ) State, Local Aid Legislation - Inasmuch as the Metro Council is <br /> *~ · I I II ~ . <br /> a level of quasi form of government between the C~ty of Ramsey and <br /> the State legislative body they should be interested in legislation <br /> that sees the cities within the Metro framework are treated equitable <br /> in State Local Aids. By all means at least the population in growth <br /> centers like Ramsey the State Aid formula should be changed to at <br /> least give the City credit for the people it has within its city <br /> limits. <br /> <br /> b ) Land Use Pla~n~ -~ritical Rivers - Wild and Scenic Rivers and <br /> the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan. These are areas that are <br /> either currently costing the City money or will be costing the City <br /> money in the near future.. However~ there are other areas that are <br /> not listed which should also be .brought up. <br /> <br /> c ) Sanitary S,,e, wer --I~ouncil may desire to give Mr. Scherer their gut <br /> feeling on this i~sue so he has a good idea of what the City is think- <br /> ing when it comes up before the Metro Council. <br /> i! <br /> <br /> any airport site involving State and local monies will have to pass <br /> through the Metro Council prior to granting of funds. <br /> <br />2) ~atters pertaining to the Economic Development Cow~ttee: All of the <br />above applies to the City's Economic Development Commission for the better <br />development of the City. However~ these items were discussed at the last <br />Economic Development Committee meeting and will be going before the Council: <br /> <br />a) Letter of intent to the State Department of Aeronautics from the <br />City Council indicating to relocate the airport so it will meet federal <br />and state requirements. <br /> <br />b ) Motion by Economic Development Commission stating the City in- <br />dustrial subdivision of land should be one acre minimum lot size. <br /> <br />c) Request for the county to start negotiatingwith the City of Anoka <br />in acquiring the land for Industrial Blvd. from Sunfish Lake Blvd. to <br />Highway #47. <br /> <br /> <br />
