CASE #9: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION;

I received two requests from citizens here in Ramsey who
are in the construction business to be on this agenda. It
has been recommended that they first appear before the
City's Economic Development Commission. Consequently,
Council should probably call for a meeting of this Commission
to meet on the following:

a) Scandanavian Construction Company wants to discuss
financing houses through possible various avenues which
are not available to people who desire to buy a home in
Ramsey.

b) Car-Son Homes wants to discuss ordinance requirements
of floor space and garage requirements on future residential
dwellings here in Ramsey.

CASE #10: CHANGING TH~ CITY OV]~R TO COMPUTER:

Request Council authorization ko put all the City!s account-
ing on computer. ~.We can rent computer time from the City
of Anoka for $210 per month which will cover the following
accounting procedures:

a) General ledger for all funds
b) Subsidiary ledger for all funds
c) Accounts payable 'list
d) Accounts payable checks
e) Payroll (including monthly quarterly PERA, FICA~
etc.
f) Prepare payroll checks
g) Monthly budgetary of expenditures and revenues

Comments - This would give the City of Ramsey a fantastic
break in fiscal management in all aspects of our accounting.
Right now, Jeanne is right up to her eyeballs in the
Mechanical things which does not allow her any time for
monitoring an~ improving methods. Consequently, the com~
puter would do the mechanical things to allow her this time.

The one area that wouldn't be covered wo~uld be the assess~
ment rolls but we co~uld work to get them to develop for the
computer. Just getting all the above on the computer would
really establish Ramsey as a model community in accounting.
We have finally reached the stage where we can go to the
requested method. I, therefore, request authorization to
commence to this beginning the 1st of April, 1980.
