PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City of Ramsey~s Planni.ng <br />and Zoni.ng Commission held a p,ublic hearing on January 7, 1980, at the <br />Ramsey MuniciPal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, MN 55303- <br /> <br />~embers present: Chairman Kenneth Peterson <br /> Ben Deemer <br /> Art Dunn <br /> John Hubbard <br /> Kathleen Schneider <br /> Ron West <br /> <br />Also present: Engineer Raatikka <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson called the public hearing to order at 7:32 ~.M. and <br />explained the purpose of conducting public hearings is to get.input <br />from the public as to their concerns and ideas about certain proposals. <br />This hearing is for a conditional use permit°request <br />to construct a greenhouse at their residence located <br />And that condi'tional uses are for certain specific <br />with certain-conditions' attached~o a-use that-is not. gene~ally~conforming <br />to the area in which it is being located, <br /> <br />Mr. Volner was present and spoke and'indicated that he intends to build <br />a ~00 X 24 foot greenhouse mostly for their own private use but would <br />like to be able to sell a few' plants out of it even during th~ winter, <br />He said he wife sells plants at plant parties but if someone should <br />come over to their home, they would like to be able to sell plants. <br /> <br />Herb Knutson, seller of the property, stated that there would be very few <br />people coming to the house, 3 to 4, no more than friends and relatiwes <br />visiting would create as far as additional traffic to the area. <br />He said this is a temporary type building, not permanent, <br /> <br />Mr. Volner stated that he has between 700 and 1~000 plants and he needs <br />room for the plants and ar~a to work in. <br /> <br />Mrs. ~e. rger, 15420 .Ig~.ana Street, stated that she is .against it because <br />of the size that they have some eyesores in her area already. There are <br />awful lookin~ buildi.ngs.in the ne.ighborhood and this would not add to the <br />value of her homeJ <br /> <br />Mr. Knutson said the Volners had a greenhouse before, it was only temporary and <br />that it took only a few hours to take it down. He asked Mrs. Be.rger if the <br />eyesores she spoke of in her area were per~anent structures. <br /> <br />Mr..
