Mr. Mox replied that they were told by their Legislator that everyone around <br />Variollte within 1/4 mile would be assessed $475. <br /> <br />Mayor Cameo stated that 20 percent of the Variolite project could be assessed <br />out legally. ' <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson reported that any street that can be proved to be of <br />a benefit to you could be assessed to you, but there is a hearing beforehand, <br /> <br />Steve Nasby said he heard from his neighbors %hat %he City is in favor of <br />blacktopping all of the roads in the City and that at any time the City Council <br />can say that all the road can be blacktopped without a vote of the people, <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec explained that they had discussed this possibility at one time <br />because of the tremendous cost it would save in maintenance. If this were <br />ever to be done, the cost would be assessed out to everyone in the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Mox asked how soon the Sports Haven road project would be done. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec Stated that it would start in May and could be completed by <br />July 1st if there are no unforeseen problemS. He 'said if the bids come <br />in over 25% above the estimated cost that another public hearing would <br />have to be held and notices sent out to people involved or that the project <br />may just be dropped. <br /> <br />A vote was taken on the project. There were 13 in favor of it and one against. <br /> <br />Motion by Counciiman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimar~n and Sorteberg.. <br />Voting no: None.
