Mayor Gamec commented on a meeting that Ramsey City officials a~tended in <br />the same respect, i.e., Metro Council involvement in municipal affairs. <br /> <br />Oakgrove is also seeking a grant for funding a municipal facility, f~re station, <br />etc.; and they were given a tour of Ramsey's municipal facility. <br /> <br />LETTERS & COmmUNICATIONS <br /> <br />Letter from County of Anoka regarding a Resolution of the County <br />Board establishing a policy on the Solid Waste/Resource Recovery Districting <br />proposal in the metropolitan area. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox noted thatCommissioner Fields has spent a tremendous <br />amount of time on this project and he asked that a letter of appreciation <br />be forwarded to him for all his efforts toward this issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann to send a note <br />of appreciation to County Commission Ed Fields thanking him for his efforts; the <br />meetings, coordinating and the Resolution that was adoptgd for communities, etc., <br />regarding sanitary landfills. <br /> <br />Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Reimann, Mickelson, and Sorteberg. <br />Voting no; None. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A letter is to also be forwarded to all County Commissioners at their home <br />address, in appreciation of their consideration and approval of Ramsey's <br />proposed multi-purpose sports arena. <br /> <br />2. Letter from the League of MN Cities. <br /> <br /> Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann that the <br />City pay the registration fees for those officials that desire to attend <br />the jointly sponsored mid-session Legislative Action Conference of the <br />League of MN Cities and the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities, 2/20/80, <br />at the St. Paul Holfday Inn. <br /> <br />Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Counciimen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and Sorteberg. <br />Voting no: None. Motion carried.. <br /> <br />3. Letter from MN Pollution Control Agency regarding denial of approval <br />for sludge application ~o MWCC Site 702, 703, 704, 705 and 706 Alan Pearson <br />property. <br /> <br />4. Letter from the Department of Natural Resources regarding Alpaca <br />Estates Environmental Assessment Worksheet <br /> <br />5. Resolution 80-2a, regarding the conference on the National Economic <br />Development Act 1979 (S~.914) regarding standby Local Public Work Program <br />in the U.S. House Representatives Version. <br /> <br />STAFF REPORTS <br /> <br />1.
