TO: City Administrator

FROM: Building Official

RE: Monthly Report

DATE: February 20, 1980

Since ~y last report I have issued only one building permit which was
for the repair of fire damage. I have two commercial permits pending
where ~ have not issued permits but have allowed them to begin construction.
Both are having difficulty acquiring the bonds required by the site plan
ordinance and I felt it better to hold their permits until such time as all
requirements have been met.

In reviewing our files it would appear we have some fifty or sixty houses
that are in varying stages of construction with no work being done. The
present economy is such that the sale potential for single family dwellings
is virtually zero. From discussions with various individuals it does not
appear that we can't expect any improvements in this area until the latter
part of 1980, if then.

I have had no written response to the letter I sent to Lindsay Brothers and
copied to Johnson Plumbing in regards to the problem with our boiler. How-
ever, Lindsay did call and stated they would warrant the parts but would not
pay any labor charges. They also indicated they would be sending a letter
to that effect.

During the past couple weeks Jear_ne ~en and I have checked several different
copiers and it would zppear that Xerox would best fit our needs. Jearane's
report covers this item quite thoroughly.

Permits issued mileage an~ inspections are as follows:

Permits issued Permit Fee
Fire Repair 1 $32.00

Mileage and inspections:

Inspections - 51
Mileage - 782

CRB:sb

Valuation
$5,000.00

Surcharge
$2.50
