TO: City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Building Official <br /> <br />RE: Vehicle Purchase <br /> <br />DATE: March 5, 1980 <br /> <br />We have reviewed the Hennepin County vehicle bids and found that the <br />purchase price for a mid-size car and a half ton pickup are approxi~ <br />mately the same or $5,O00+'. The sub-compact bid~was approximately <br />$500.00 less. <br /> <br />In discussing this with Merle he indicated we shoUld consider' taking <br />our own bids as we may save some money. He indicated the~ City of <br />Anoka recently bid this in lieu of accepting the Hennepin County <br />bid and agot a substantially lower bid on a truck. <br /> <br />In view of this it woUld be our recommendation we advertise for bids <br />for a half ton pickup which we feel would be the most functional for <br />the City. However, we still feel the appropriate thing to do would <br />be to purchase a four wheel drive pickup with a plow for the~ Street <br />Department which woUld allow the use of his pickup for the'Building <br />Inspection Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
