State Rate Review Program, Minnesota Department of Health <br /> Program on Aging, Metropolitan Council <br /> Area Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Human Service Boards <br /> County Community Health Services Agencies <br /> <br />· Minnesota Hospital Association <br /> <br />· Minnesota Association of Health Care Facilities <br /> <br />· Council of Community Hospitals <br /> Physicians Metropolitan Health For~e <br /> Areawide Hospitals <br /> Areawide Nursing Homes <br /> Areawide Group Homes <br /> State, County and City Association of Retired Citizens <br /> Metropolitan Area Residents <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Public Hearing April 24 <br /> <br />The National Health Planning and Resources Development Act of 1974, as amended <br />in 1979, requires the Metropolitan Council-Metropolitan Health Board (as <br />the Seven-County Metropolitan Area Health Systems Agency) to adopt procedures <br />and criteria for conducting reviews of a number of health-related proposals. <br />Such reviews tnclude Certificate of Need and-or 1122 proposals, proposed <br />use of federal funds (PUFF), appropriateness reviews, hospital energy con- <br />servation grants, ambulance license requests, community health service agency <br />plans and "A-95" reviews. <br /> <br />Regulations governing the implementation of the law stipulate that the adoption <br />of review procedures and criteria must include the opportunity for citizen <br />and organization review and comment. To meet this regulatory provision, the <br />Metropolitan Council-Metropolitan Health Board will hold a public hearing at <br />5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, in the Council offices, 300 Metro Square Bldg., <br />St. Paul, to receive comments on proposed revisions to the Operatin9 Procedures <br />and Review Criteria Manual.
