The <br /> volume of unaccounted-for water should be evaluated each billing cycle.The American Water <br /> Works Association (AWWA) recommends that ten percent or less of pumped water is <br /> unaccounted-for water. Water audit procedures are available from the AWWA and MN Rural <br /> Water Association www.mrwa.com . Drinking Water Revolving Loan Funds are available for <br /> purchase of new meters when new plants are built. <br /> What is the date of your most recent water audit? <br /> Frequency of water audits: ❑ yearly ❑ other (specify frequency) <br /> Leak detection and survey: ❑ every year ❑ every other year ❑ periodic as needed <br /> Year last leak detection survey completed: <br /> If Table 2 shows annual water losses over 10% or an increasing trend over time, describe what <br /> actions will be taken to reach the <10% loss objective and within what timeframe <br /> Metering -AWWA recommends that every water supplier install meters to account for all <br /> water taken into its system, along with all water distributed from its system at each customer's <br /> point of service. An effective metering program relies upon periodic performance testing, <br /> repair, maintenance or replacement of all meters. AWWA also recommends that water <br /> suppliers conduct regular water audits to ensure accountability.
