Locol Water Supply Plon Template July 8, 2016 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, Anoka and Ramsey, pursuant to the authority <br /> contained in Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59, commonly known as <br /> the "Joint Powers Act," in order to accomplish the foregoing <br /> purposes, agree as follows: <br /> 1. CONSTRUCTION OF INTERCONNECTIONS. Anoka and Ramsey shall <br /> and have constructed two interconnections between the Anoka <br /> municipal water system and the Ramsey municipal water system, as <br /> follows: <br /> (a) Highway 10 Connection - a permanent connection located <br /> at the Anoka/Ramsey boundary on the North side of Highway 10 <br /> which consists of water main, a manhole, a back flow <br /> preventer, water meter, and valves and fittings. The purpose <br /> of this connection is to provide a supplemental source to <br /> Ramsey and an emergency water supply to Ramsey in the event <br /> of a water main break or interruption of Ramsey's water <br /> supply. <br /> (b) County Road #116/Thurston Avenue Connection - a <br /> connection at the Southeast corner of the intersection of <br /> • County Road #116 and Thurston Avenue. This connection is <br /> temporary in nature and has been accomplished by the <br /> connection of fittings and a hose line between two fire <br /> hydrants. Water drawn at this location will be for emergency <br /> use only. The connection contains a backflow preventer and <br /> meter. <br /> 2. OWNERSHIP OF HIGHWAY 10 CONNECTION EQUIPMENT. Anoka <br /> shall own all equipment East of the metering manhole and within <br /> the corporate limits of Anoka, and shall own and maintain the meter <br /> within the metering manhole and have access to the meter. Ramsey <br /> shall own and maintain the metering manhole and all equipment West <br /> of the manhole and within the corporate- limits of Ramsey. All <br /> water flow through this connection shall be from Anoka to Ramsey <br /> and the one-way flow is insured by a double check backflow <br /> preventer owned and maintained by Ramsey.
