Mayor Strommen stated that while she understands the thinking of attempting to avoid those types
of intersections, huge bottlenecks are created by limiting the number of access points into a
neighborhood. She believed that there are tradeoffs that could be considered.
Community Development Director Gladhill stated that if there is an additional access point onto
Alpine, perhaps that would strengthen the desire to realign Puma Street to better align with other
streets.
Mayor Strommen stated that while the City often discourages pocket parks, kids need places to
play close to their home. She stated that people are in Ramsey to experience the environment and
therefore there is room for discussion on that item.
Councilmember Shryock asked for the timeline on the future development of Itasca Park.
Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood stated that the discussions will
include the timing and how that can coordinate with the plat. He noted that low maintenance items
will also be reviewed to determine what could be shared.
