This is an issue
that is important to me as I am a real estate broker, builder, and owner or an 8-unit town home building in
Ramsey. In addition, I am in the process of building 1 more 8-unit building with the hopes of completing a 3rd
8-unit building in 2017. These units are or will be rental homes. My rental demographic are generally family's
with a household income of more than $54,000 per year. All the units are 3 bedrooms and are a little larger than
1600 finished square feet.
I oppose any rental licensing requirements as I find them cumbersome, costly, and repetitive.
It is a hassle and time consuming to fill out the paperwork, set-up inspections, coordinate with the tenants for
inspections, and actually going to the inspection for one unit. For me, this will be multiplied by 24 once all the
units come on line. I would estimate it would take a couple days worth of time to coordinate and complete all
these inspections.
i
