Accordingly, I have
reviewed your programs' needs and have requested $419,997 of SOS funds
supplementing the subject SRS project to furnish and install authorized
signs, etc.

The above is the good news. The bad news is that SOS funds are at
76.73 percent federal participation. The remaining 23.27 percent must
be borne by the Participant. I trust your, priorities are such that you
will find a way to complete the furnish and install phase of the project.

I will take this opportunity to update you on the status of the program:

Nearly $89,000 of "402" (100 percent reimbursable) funds have
been obligated for inventories by 37 Participants (10 counties,
10 MSA cities and 17 cities less than 5,000 population).

31Participant~ have filed inventory claims which have been
or are being processed for payment. Participants that are
overdue should file inventory reimbursement claims as soon
as possible.

Twelve Participants (5 counties, 2 MSA cities and 5 cities less
than 5,000 population) have been authorized with SRS funds to
furnish and install signs, etc. Estimated, costs are $278,000.
Two additional participants are being considered for authorization,
thus obligating all of the SRS funds. This is in keeping with
the first come - first serve concept.

An Equal Opportuni~. Employer
