09/22/16 REVISOR CKM/IL AR4240 <br />47.1 (1) Hard -surface trails are not allowed on the face of bluffs with a slope <br />47.2 exceeding 30 percent. Natural surface trails are allowed, provided they do not exceed <br />47.3 eight feet in width. <br />47.4 (2) Trails, paths, and viewing areas must be designed and constructed to <br />47.5 minimize <br />47.6 (a) visibility from the river; <br />47.7 (b) visual impacts on public river corridor views; and <br />47.8 (c) disturbance to and fragmentation of primary conservation areas. <br />47.9 D. Public water access facilities are subject to the following requirements: <br />47.10 (1) watercraft access ramps must comply with parts 6115.0210 and <br />47.11 6280.0250; and <br />47.12 (2) facilities must be designed and constructed consistent with the standards <br />47.13 in Design Handbook for Recreational Boating and Fishing Facilities, incorporated by <br />47.14 reference under part 6106.0090. <br />47.15 E. Public signs and kiosks for interpretive or directional purposes are allowed in <br />47.16 the bluff impact zone or shore impact zone, provided they are placed and constructed to <br />47.17 minimize disturbance to these areas and avoid visual impacts on public river corridor views. <br />47.18 F. Public stairways, lifts, and landings must be designed as provided in part <br />47.19 6106.0140, subpart 6, item C. <br />47.20 6106.0140 GENERAL DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR PRIVATE <br />47.21 FACILITIES. <br />47.22 Subpart 1. Purpose. The purpose of this part is to provide design standards for <br />47.23 private facilities within the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area that are consistent <br />47.24 with best management practices and that minimize impacts to primary conservation areas <br />47.25 and other identified resources. <br />6106.0140 47 <br />
