FROM:

SUBJ:

DATED:

City Administrator

Building Official

Gros$1ein Distributing - Site Plan

May 7, 1980

At the request of a Mrs. Gustafson on Rivlyn Street, I reviewed the
site plan and site WOrk at Mr. Grosslein's new warehouse on Tungsten
Street. Mrs. Gustafsons complaint wa~ that a change had been made in
the proposed green area at the Southwest corner of the building. The
inspection confirmed her complaint as a change has been made (see
attached).

In discussing this with Mr. Grosslein he indicated he made the change
for the following reasons.

The entire blacktop area on the South side of the building
drains West towards Tungsten Street, then' into a catch basin
located in front of the loading bay. Mr. GrossleiB feels the
change allows him to maintain his drainage on his own property
rather than running the water to Tungsten Street. He further
indicated that maintaining this drainage on ]~is own property
would be more Critical in the winter time to avoid an icing
condition on the street.

e

Mr. Grossleins second reason for making this change was to
allow his delivery trucks better maneuvering area. He feels
the reduction in the Size of the green area in question will
result in the delivery trucks using, more of his property to
maneuver, thus requiring less of the street which will allow
for better traffic flows and improved traffic safety.

I would concur with Mr. Grosslein and recommend this change.
this should be approved by the' City Council.

Clayton Berg /

Howeve r,
