TO:

FROM:

DATE:

RE:

City Administrator

Staff

May 8, 1980

Petitions for Street Improvement

The City has received two petitions for street improvements, They
are for the Whispering Pines Plat #2 and 159th Avenue, 158th Lane
Ebony Street and Dolomite Street areas.

The breakdown for each area is as follows:

1) Whispering Pines Plat #2

There are 50 units in the plat, The petition had
24 signatures in favor and one (i) signature opposed.
There is a five acre parcel adjacent to the'plat
which could be subdivided into two (2) two and one~
half acre parcels. The owner of this parcel has a
home built on the north half and enters unto 153rd
Avenue. Inasmuch as he would not be directly
affected by the improvement it could only be counted
as one additional unit making it a total 51 units,
Using the 50 units and the 24 signatures in favor
it is 48% in favor of this improvement,

2) 159th Avenue, 158th Lane, Ebony Street and Dolomite Street~

This area has a total of 40 units, 31 of which have
homes on. They have a total of 20 signatures in
favor of a street improvement which gives them a total
of 50%. Figuring the number of homes (31) it gives
them a total of 65% in favor.

I have checked with City Engineer Raatikka on three of the
units which could be subdivided. This will not change the
percentages, however if these can be subdivided.
