Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to 'have
staff review the tax payment and horse arena question and to make a re-
port for Council to review the matter at its May 13, 1980 meeting.

Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann,
Mickelson and Cox. Voting no None.

~r. John Heinen, 6370 - 143rd Lane N.W. was present and he said he is
putting in a larger driveway and wants a horseshoe driveway whichwill
be a driveway wider than 20 feet at its intersection with the street.
He said if he gets a variance this will cost $90 to do and he wants to
do it right. He said his present driveway is illegal and he wants to
be legal. City Engineer Raatikka said one reason for the twenty foot
ordinance limitation is for concrete curb openings. ~Ar. Heinen said
he would like to go at least thirty (30) feet wide at the street/drive-
way intersection. ~r. Heinen said there is no street parking in his
area anyway and, therefore, there should be no problem, especially
since larger driveways exist in other areas of the City. Mayor Gamec
said he is in favor of leaving the ordinance the way it is and request-
ing Mr. Heinen to get a variance.

The concensus of the Council was for Cla~ton Berg to write a report
to the Council for the next meeting on May 13, 1980.

Ms. Rose Jacobsen, 17601 Marmoset Street asked if Council has any in-
tention of bringing the streets in her area to a driveable condition.
She said the City should be responsible for keeping the streets in a
driveable condition.

Ms. Karen Acers, 8600 - 176th Avenue said she spoke to Mayor Gamec two
weeks ago tonight but was unable to stay for the remainder of the meet-
ing. She said Mayor Gamec was totally inaccessible. She said she was
told her street problem matter was the third item on the agenda tonight.
It was agreed that this matter is the third on the agenda.

Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to
accept the agenda as presented and if anything else is to be added it
shall be brought up in Mayor and Council input.

Motion carried.
