COUNTY OF ANOKA

Office of the Comity Board of Commissioners

DOURT HOUSE --- 421-496D --- ANOKA, MINNES[]TA 553D3

May 14, 1980

Mr. Lloyd Schnelle
Clerk, City of Ramsey
15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW
Anoka, Minnesota 55303

Dear Mr. Schnelle:

Meeting on CompUterized Tax ~ssessment
and Collection Package

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to a
meeting Anoka County will be sponsoring on a computerized
tax assessment and collection package that we are considering
acquiring. I believe this computer software package will be
of great benefit not only to our County system, but to the
individual municipalities and townships in Anoka County.

The tax package would allow Anoka County to develop a computer
data base for assessor field cards, special assessments, and
delinquencies. A CRT terminal located at your C~ty Hall could
have an inquiry capability once the package is operational, and
an input capability after the elements of the package have been
phased in. I strongly believe this package can achieve cost
savings due to the computerization of manual processes, as
well as improve service quality to citizens.

I have invited Jim Evans of soUtheastern Computer Corporation
in Florida and Rick Nagengast of Burroughs Corporation in .
St. Paul, to give a slide presentation on the tax software
package and its applications. The meeting will be at the
Bunker Hills Activity Center in Room A, on June 4, 1980,
from 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Feel free to brinq your

Assessor, Finance Director, and/or Data Processing Manager.

If we decide to acquire this software package, its varied
applications would be phased in.to achieve a ~smooth transition.
Your understanding, appreciation, and concerns related to this
package are very important to the County Board and myself°

Affirmative Action~aJ Opportunity Employer
