PUBLIC HEARING <br />Board of Adjustment <br /> City of Ramsey <br />Anoka Co un ty <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice .~thereof, the Ramsey City Council held a <br />Board of Adjustment meeting regarding a request for variance on accessory <br />building; case of Mr. John R. Tousley, 5201 - 155th Lane N.W. on May 27, 1980 <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Co unci lman Sorteberg <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Cox <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson called the meeting to order at 7:36 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. & Mrs. John R. Tousley were present. <br /> <br />Mr. Tousley had no com~mnts other than he stated the fact that he needed <br />this size (1,248 sq. ft.) accessory building. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to <br />deny the request for variance on accessory building 1,248 sq. ft. in size <br />submitted by Mr. John R. Tousley, 5201 - 155th Lane N.W. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Counciln~n Sortebe.rg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec explained that the reasors for denial were that to put up a <br />building of this size would not be within the city ordinance and at past <br />n~etings, the council has denied such requests. <br /> <br />Mrs. Tousley asked why the city told them to apply for a variance if the <br />council denies most cases like theirs. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann asked her if she was told what the ordinance stated. <br /> <br />Ms. Tousley said a woman at City Hall and the Building Inspector told them <br />what the ordinance stated, but the Building Inspector told them they could <br />apply for a variance. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann explained that the ordinance allows a double garage and <br />an accessory building of a maximum of 624 sq. ft. <br /> <br />Mr. Tousley said he was led to believe that all he needed to do was apply <br />for a variance, but the Building Inspector diSn't give him any indication <br />he wouldn't get it. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said the problem was the large size he wanted.
