CASE <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR A HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT; CASE OF REBECCA WISSLER <br /> Community Development Intern, Alex Blackburn <br /> <br />Background: <br />On August 15, 2000, the City received an application from Rebecca Wissler for a home <br />occupation permit to establish a hair and tanning salon in her home at 6614 153rd Lane N.W. <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br />c) <br />d) <br /> <br />Site location map <br />4 sheet site plan set <br />Proposed findings of fact <br />Proposed conditional use permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br />State statute requires notification of hearing to property owners within 350 feet of the subject <br />property. <br /> <br />Observations: <br />Rebecca Wissler is proposing to convert her attached garage to habitable space in the home and <br />construct a detached garage. She is requesting a home occupation permit to establish a hair and <br />tanning salon in the remodeled room. The room complies with the 20% restriction for area of <br />home devoted to home occupation. Rebecca will be the sole employee and she expects to service <br />approximately 30 clients per week. She is requesting hours of operation as follows: <br /> <br />Monday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM <br />Tuesday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM <br />Wednesday 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM <br />Thursday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM <br />Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM <br />Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM <br /> <br />The City has approved similar requests in the past. <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends approval of the request. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend that City Council adopt Findings of Fact relating to Rebecca's Wissler's request for <br />a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend that City Council approve/deny Rebecca Wissler's request for a home occupation <br />permit. <br /> <br />PC: 09/05/00 <br /> <br /> <br />
