Council Update Ramsey EDA Business Expo- Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. — 2:00 p.m. at The Fountains of Ramsey, 7533 Sunwood Drive NW. Come for an afternoon of fun giveaways and a chance to learn about the products and services of 50 local businesses! Attached to the Weekly Update is the 2017 Ramsey EDA Business Expo flyer. Mark Your Calendar: It's almost time for our annual Employee Appreciation Breakfast, Years - of -Service Awards & All -staff Meetings. Date: Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Breakfast will be ready beginning at 7:30. Recreation Programming—Starwatch Party with Mike Lynch. The show will go on rain or shine! Join WCCO's Mike Lynch tonight at the Elmcrest Park pavilion to explore the universe and learn the basics of starwatching. In case of poor skies for viewing (likely), participants will receive a "cloud check" to attend another starwatch party in Minnesota or Wisconsin. This astronomy and stargazing class will begin promptly at 7:45pm with meteorologist Mike Lynch leading an orientation of the night sky with maps and constellation diagrams provided. He also prepares participants on finding the constellations and how they move across the night sky. Mike makes constellation stories fun, telling modern versions of the old tales —he even uses audience participation to help tell the stories! If it's not raining, Mike will set up telescopes and you can stargaze using groups of people as "star clusters." If we do have rain, he will be sure to setup one of the giant telescopes inside so everyone has a chance to experience. Even with rain in the forecast for this Thursday, Mike will be sure to make the night fun and prepare you for stargazing on a clear night and experiencing the solar eclipse this summer.
