Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION#17-03-071 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> POLICY BOARD'S 2017-2019 WORK PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, the primary objective of the Environmental Policy Board is to review, <br /> consider,initiate and recommend to City Council such policies,plans or projects that will enhance <br /> and preserve the natural environment of the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Environmental Policy Board's scope includes, but is not necessarily <br /> limited to,matters of the preservation of the community forest,water quality,wetland preservation, <br /> ground water protection, ecological preservation, control of soil erosion and air, noise and light <br /> pollution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Environmental Policy Board's Statement of Purpose asserts that it will <br /> promote environmental awareness and conservation practice by citizens by advising the City <br /> Council on policy issues, review of new development proposals, communication and education; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, a role of the Environmental Policy Board is to present multiple perspectives, <br /> ideas, and new technologies that promote both discovery and accountability; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Environmental Policy Board is responsible for developing a work plan <br /> subject to the approval of the City Council. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY,ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby approves the 2017-2019 Work Plan <br /> for the Environmental Policy Board. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> and the following voted against the same: <br /> and the following abstained: <br /> and the following were absent: <br /> Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br /> the 281h day of March, 2017. <br />
