A public hearing date for Amending Subdivision Code Regarding Lot Size <br />Calculation to Include Streets in Cases of Two and One-Half Acre Lots or <br />Larger in TransitionaI or Rural Service Area was set for the first regular <br />council meeting in July, July 8, 1980. <br /> <br />10. Ramsey Landfill <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said he has the County Health Report on the <br />Ramsey Landfill. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he encountered a City of Anoka truck:on the Street <br />which was not covered and debris was flying from it and it had no tailgate. <br />He talked to City Administrator Schnelle about it and Mr. Schnelle called <br />the city to inform them of this violation. <br /> <br />11. Paving of 153rd Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said even though the project is scheduled for 1982, <br />the city could go ahead with it this year and use this year's funds that <br />were going to be used on Variolite. He suggested pu~ting the Variolite <br />project off until later. Bituminous prices are favorable this summer. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox noted there were some pretty good size holes on Variolite. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said there should be some ditch cleaning there also. <br />He asked if the project would be assessed or strictly funds used. He <br />noted none of the city lots are assessed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to accept <br />City Engineer Raatikka's letter regarding Paving of 153rd Avenue N.W. and <br />consistent with past policy there will be no assessments. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Councilmen Reimann, Sorteberg, Mickelson and Cox. <br />Voting no-None. <br /> <br />12. Grants <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he felt the city should look into buying the property behind <br />City Hall, which was for sale for its future public works facilities. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to prepare <br />a Preliminary GrantApplication to obtain parcels adjacent to City Hall <br />for future Public Works facilities. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Councilmen Reimamn,' Sorteberg, ]~ickelson and Cox. <br />Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Discussion was held on which parcels would be adequate for city purposes. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to direct <br />city staff to obtain quotes from Atty. Bernard Steffens for preparing <br />grant applications. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
