PUBLIC HEARING <br /> City of Ramsey <br /> Anoka County <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Council held a <br />public hearing regarding Street Improvement Project, 159th Avenue N.W., <br />Dolomite Street N.W., Ebony Street N.W., 158th Lane N.W. and 160th Lane N.W., <br />on June 16, 1980, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., <br />Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec' <br />Councilman Sorteberg <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Cox <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka <br />City Administrator Schnelle <br />City Assessor Wirz <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. and led in the Pledge <br />of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said City Engineer Raatikka would review the project, including <br />the cost and type of street to be put in. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said the proposed project includes cost of grading, <br />widening, shaping, bituminous paving and restoration. He said it would be <br />up to the individual owners to take care of their own driveways, with the <br />exception of a one-foot apron which would be provided on all driveways to <br />protect the edge of the pavements. He said the proposed street section is <br />a suburban-type 26' wide street and would consist of a 3" gravel base with <br />a 1~" bituminous surface. He said this base and surface has been used throughout <br />the city with favorable results. The estimated costs of the project are: <br />$35,525 for Bituminous Surfacing,' $13,200 for Class V Gravel, $7,400 for <br />Grading and $11,600 for Restoration. $67,725 is the estimated construction cost <br />plus contingencies, engineer & administrative costs of $16,925 for a total <br />estimated cost for street improvement of $8~,650. The cost is divided between <br />38 units for a total of $2,227.63 per unit. At 10% interest for 10 years, <br />the annual unit cost is $362.66.
