Councilman Cox said the city has people who are waiting for answers to these
problems so they can go ahead with their developments.

Metro Council Chairman Weaver said they will provide all the local planning
assistance that they can.

Mayor Camec said as far as working with the Metro Council people, the city
has had good results in that area and have had their questions answered.

City Administrator Schnelle said the city is concerned about the second
sanitary sewer interceptor connectimin the city and the city would like to
have it put in at the same time as the one for Dunham Oaks Subdivis!main
Anoka.

Councilman Cox said this is an urban area and the connectimshould be made
available as soon as possible.

Mayor Gamec said there was a CAB meeting where Anoka was pushing for that
connaction, but Dunham Oaks has been turned down now.. There are people
already to develop down in that area and the lots are subdivided into sewer
lot sizes. The best thing now is to put in that line which would be less
than a quarter of a mile.

Metro Council Chairman Weaver said the Metro Council needs an updated
Comprehensive Sewer Plan from Ramsey and until they have it, there isn't
going to be any lines.

Mayor Gamec said the city has sent their Comprehensive Sewer Plan into the
Metro Council in the last couple months.

Metro Council Chairman Weaver explained there is a funding problem and
Brooklyn Park and Champlin are having a bigger problem than Ramsey because
there is very little.federal funding now for this type of thing. However,
the first part'of the CAB is no problem.

Mayor Gamec said when the city found out that Dunham Oaks was down the tube,
they decided to take another look at things.

City Attorney Goodrich asked what would happen if Ramsey doesn't agree
with Metro Council on the lot size requirement.

Metro Chairman Weaver said the Metro Co%mcil may not approve the plan and
any applications for federal funding for future developments (FHA, GI,
etc.) may not be approved.

Mayor Gamec Said the city is determined with their 2½acre lot size requirement.
The Physical Development Committee agreed with Ramsey, but their hands are tied.

Metro Council Chairman Weaver said regarding the Critical Area Plan, there
is no choice and the Metro Council cannot amend anything in the Critical
Area.

Roger Scherer said the Metro Council has been tz~ing to help Ramsey out and
they know it is growing rapidly but what the council has to worry about is
what the people in adjacent co~unities are going to say about it. It takes
times to work these things out.

C/August 26, 1980
Page 4
