Lindquist Acting Administrator The City of Andover 1685 Crosstown Boulevard, Northwest Anoka, Minnesota 55303 RE: Request by the City of Andover for Continuation of the Board's Consider- ation of Its Cable Service Territory Expansion Proposal Dear Ms. Lindquist: We have been in receipt of your letter on behalf of the City of Andover dated September 9, 1980 requesting that the Minnesota Cable Communications Board continue its action on Andover's proposal for an expansion of the Anoka/Champlin/ Ramsey Cable Service Territory (CST) to encompass the corporate limits of Andover until its next regularly scheduled meeting. As you have been advised, the Board received a letter from the Anoka/Champlin/ Ramsey Cable Commission dated September 3, 1980 similarly requesting that the Board continue action until its next meeting. During its meeting on September 12, 1980, the Minnesota Cable Communications 'Board postponed action on the City of Andover's CST expansion proposal, and refer- red the proposal back to the city council of the City of Andover for the purpose of reconsideration of designation of an initial service area. The Board is scheduled to meet again at 9 a.m. on October 17, 1980. Staff has previously recommended that Andover designate an initial service area within the total proposed CST expanded area boundaries, and that such an initial area might be designated according to Andover's estimation of the feasib- ility (considering density and other factors) of a cable communications company's initially providing services to a particular geographic area. In the event that the City of Andover reconsiders its proposed initial service area designation and, according to its own judgment, wishes to amend the CST proposal submitted to the Board, please be so kind as to send us another map containing total CST and initial service area designations, along with population data, number of dwelling units and any other density data for the area to be initially served and for the total CST expansion area. Although data such as might give estimates for the year 1990 (as presented in your June 12, 1980 pro- posal) may be helpful to the Board, the basic data provided should definitely be listings of the most current available data.
