City Administrator Schnelle recommended leaving the ditch in the County's hands and msJ~ing sure it is properly sized now. Administration of County ditches can be a real problem. The developer was present and said the County is going to be very interested in what the city has to say on this matter. The County isn't really interested in supervising ditches either. They discovered this ditch that is going right through their plat and it is not a f~Jctioning ditch at this time and has not been for 50 or 40 years. They abandoned the ditch improvement proposal because of the expense and hassle involved. City Attorney Goodrich said he was assuming that the County will abandon the d~tch and maintain a County Sewer. The developer said if the County abandons the ditch, the city has the water and the storm sewer. They hoped the city would consider a resolution that is as simple as possible because this is new in the State and it hasn't been tried out in the County yet. They want to tell. the County that the city agrees.to maintain the link in the ditch system. City Engineer Raatik_ka said he would like to see a front system for a right-of-way because that is eventually what is going to go in there. City Attorney Goodrich said the pipe size should be appropriate for that plat. Motion by Coumcilman Sorteberg and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to a~opt Resolution #80- 119 Regardin9 Disposition of County Ditch #43, Flintwood Hills Second ~ddition. Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann,~ Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. Re£er to resolution £ile £or Resolution #80-120 2) Bulletin Board Sign at City Hall and Director Signs to Ail Business and Industrial A~eas Mr. John Hovland was present and said the Lions Club is donating a bulletin board sign for out front of City Hall which has letters that can include whatever the city wants.
