COUNCIL BUSINESS Case #1: Public Hearing on to Adopt an Ordinance to Amend the Sh°reland Managemeut Regulations of the City Code Mayor Gamcc closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:18 p.m. in order to conduct a public hearing. Public Heariug Mayor Gamec continued the public hearing at 7:18 p.m. Presentation Community Development Director Frolik indicated the Environmental Overlay regulations of City Code are the remaining sections of Chapter 9 in needs of updating as a result of the adoption of the new Comprehensive Plan and amendments to State regulations. The Shoreland Overlay district is proposed to be amended at this. time. Shoreland Management regulates all lands adjacent to state designated public waters, with the exception of the Mississippi and Rum Rivers in Ramsey where Critical Area and Wild and Scenic regulations are in place. The public hearing regarding the proposed ordinance was continued to allow DNR sufficient time to reviexv the proposed ordinance. The most significant change to the text is that property owners applying for variances to the shoreland regulations will be required to supply proof of conforming septic systems. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPearson. The public hearing closed at 7:20 p.m. Couucil Business Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 7:20 p.m. Councilmember Strommen commented the Environmental Policy Task Force is also working on a wetland buffer ordinance.
