Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #17-04-087 <br /> RESOLUTION TO HIRE SEASONAL PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE <br /> WORKERS AND AN ENGINEERING INTERN <br /> WHEREAS, annually the City employs seasonal public works maintenance <br /> workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, and Utilities Divisions of Public Works <br /> and interns to work in Administrative Services, Community Development, Engineering, <br /> and Parks; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff has found a significant benefit to seasonal public works <br /> maintenance workers and interns; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff selected 1 qualified entry level seasonal candidate; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff selected 2 qualified semi-entry level seasonal candidates to <br /> work in the recently established semi-entry level seasonal role as allowed by the 2017 - <br /> 2018 AFSCME labor agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff selected 1 qualified intern; and <br /> WHEREAS, all candidates passed the pre-employment screening; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff recommends hiring the selected 2017 candidates listed below. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY,ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> Motion to adopt resolution 417-04-087 to hire the following employees: <br /> 1. Entry level seasonal employee: Returning for the second year or greater: <br /> Taylor Moshier at$10.50 per hour with start date on or near April 3, 2017. <br /> 2. Semi-entry level seasonal employees: Tim Barrett and Tom Marks at$16.91 <br /> per hour with a start date on or near April 3, 2017. <br /> 3. Engineering Intern: Ben Vrchota at$13.50 per hour with start date on or near <br /> May 22, 2017. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br /> Member, , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof. <br /> and the following voted against the same: <br />
