Etienne called for nominations for a moder- ator for the meeting· Mr. Jerry LaPham was nominated. This nomihation was seconded. Then we had a motion that the nomina- tions be closed. This motion was seconded. Motion passed. Mr. Jerry LaPham was elected by acclamation. Mr. LaPham called for the reading of the minutes of the last annual meeting of March 12, 1968 and the results of the election of that date. A motion was made by Mr. Hoffman to accept the minutes as read. Seconded by Mr. Schenk. Motion passed. Treasurer's report was read by Mr. Etienne. Motion made by Mr. Enich to accept the treasurer's report as read. Seconded by Mr. Titterud. Motion passed· Mr. Husby asked if all the year's fire calls had been paid. Mrs. Etienne, the treasurer, said $560.00 was still outstanding but that some of this was for.roadside fires, etc. which could not be charged to any individual. It was stated that Ramsay Township now has a taxable valua- tion of $1,225,157. This year the cost of the fire Contract with Anoka is $400.00 They had not yet received the cost of the fire contract with Elk River but thought it would probably be the same. There is $2,062 in the fire fund at the present time. The Town Board recommended $3,000 be put in the fire fund for 1969. A motion was made by Mr. Hoffman that we accept the board's recommendation. Seconded by Mr. Titterud. Motion passed. General Fund. The Town Board recommended $5,000 for the Gen- eral Fund. Seconded by Mr. Guy McFee. Motion passed. Road & Bridge Fund. $7,500 recommended by the Town Board for this fund. $18,000 is in this fund at the present time. It was stated that we need a new one-way plow. Mr. Scroggins road needs improvement. The Brom road needs repairs. Mr. Husby moved that we raise no money for the road and bridge fund this year. Seconded by Mr. Schenk. Motion failed. The Town Board recommended $7,500 for the Road ~ Bridge fund, $15,000 for Road Reapir fund, $15,000 for Building Fund, and $2,500 for the remodelling of the garage. Mr. LaPham asked for a break down between road and bridge and road repair funds. Mr. Russell suggested that we put road and b~idge and road repair .funds together· A mile of road between #? and #5 needs~to be resttrfaced. $4,800 was spent last year Just for everyday operating expenses. There was a vote of confidence and thanks for Mr. Richard Barstow for a Job well done on the roads and for the snowplowing this year.
