- 2-

made to the state hospital by Anoka and there is much. lost by the City
in road assessments for road repairs, etc.

It would take $119,000 to purchase this 300 acres outright from the
state for the park cite and for two other park cites in Anoka - $26,000
for one and $800 for another.

"Developing three hundred acres for the industrial park?"

Industrial park is up to the individual developer.

d. ,,Resurfacing streets ix Anoka (especially Main Street)~"

The state has had the money for resur£acing Main Street for a long time
but they want the sewers and water mains under Main Street taken care of
first so the new street would not be torn up for suck repairs. The water
mains and sewers under Main. Street are ancient and need to be redone. It
would taken $800,000 for the repairs of mains and sewers because there
are old causeways and coal bins under the street. Urban renewal is also
holding up the repair of this street. The cost of just smoothing out
Main Street is $40,000.

The sewer under Park Street has to he replaced with a relief sanitary
se~er. Park Street is too narrow hut before they can widen itt the sewer
under the street must be changed and with this comes the questions as to
what size sewer they should put in, whether it should just go to the
edge of the city or whether it should be made la~ge enough to take care
of part of Ramsey Township.

No. 5 What about the Industrial Park? Is Ramsey expected to pay for
that if they are annexed?"

Answer is "No.

Question was asked from audience: "If the Township had a polution
problem how would it be handled and who would pay for it? Mr. Gorham
answered that the Township would call out the State Board of Health and
they would take their advice. It would be a direct assessment..

Mr. Gesko said the Town Board of Ramsey came to the City of Anoka to
ask for a fact-finding committee~ Therefore after a. year of meetings
the fact-finding report was issued with. several different plans.

There was a talk by Mayor Elvig about the future of this area.~ All o£
the Ramsey Town Board did not go to Anoka,. according to Mr.~ Gotham.

319 acres have now requested anmexa%ion to the City of Anoka from Ramsey.
Meeting adjourned at 10:30 p..m.

Respectfully submitted,
