MINNESOTA STATE SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS <br /> <br />Dear Sir: <br /> <br /> I am sending you in the attached package .-~,~ ~5% bal- <br />lots for the election of supervisors for the~a~/<~.~.~.//g>.2~ <br />Conservation District to be held at the regular town election on <br />March 10, 1970. <br /> <br /> &ccording to the Minnesota Soil Conservation Districts Law <br />(L 1937), as amended in 1943 and 19~5, Chapter 274, Section 2~ Sub- <br />division 3, the election is "held at the time and place of holding <br />the annual spring town meeting and the town election officers shall <br />act as the soil conservation district election officers. All laws <br />relating to town elections shall govern," <br /> <br /> All legal voters in the township are eligible to vote. Howeven. <br />cities, towns and villages are not included in the district and <br />hence those who vote there are not legal voters in the district ex- <br />cept in case of those residing on farms within cities, towns and <br />villages. <br /> <br /> I am ~nclosing two tally sheets with the ballots which are to <br />be filled out after the polls are closed. One copy is then to be <br />mailed, in the enclosed enveloped, to the county auditor.
