Plan Your Parks-Social Media <br /> The County shared a "Plan Your Parks" advertisement on social media and the County <br /> Parks home page. Refer to Figure 13. The post on social media specifically targeted <br /> underserved minority populations within a 20-mile <br /> Anoka County Parks dr Like Pape radius and reached almost 8000 people. The post <br /> ® <br /> 'p--d N <br /> Anci County Parks would like to engage current park users and those included a short anonymous survey in English, <br /> that are unfamiliar with the park system toassist infuture planning efforts Spanish and Somali that asked for input on <br /> Please help us by completing this online survey to ensure that park <br /> amenities reflect the changing conor l"needs access to parks, transportation to parks, preferred <br /> amenities and activities, preferred trail surfacing, <br /> park cleanliness, city respondent was from, age, <br /> sex and ethnicity. There were 100 survey <br /> PLA N 8 respondents and most were regular park users. <br /> p The majority of respondents were female, <br /> PARKS c Caucasian, between 25-64 years of age and from <br /> P1anPourParks-tlrtokaCounh- 771— J - Anoka County. Other respondents were <br /> videteedbzck and learn m°re about how parks amdeveloped. between 15-24 years of age, were American <br /> Indian/Alaska Native, Hispanic or Latino or of <br /> Lire ■Carll ,share another ethnicity not specified. Some <br /> respondents were from Hennepin and Sherburne <br /> FIGURE 4 counties. <br /> Plan Your Parks- Public Events - <br /> 's _s <br /> i <br /> The County conducted two public <br /> events to reach non-park users and <br /> underserved populations. One event + <br /> has held at a local mall during a busy <br /> shopping season and the other was <br /> held at the County's Blaine Service _ <br /> Center. Refer to Figures 14 and 15 for <br /> images of the events. At both events, <br /> staff attempted to track age, ethnicity <br /> and gender of each individual Wow <br /> FIGURE 14 <br /> engaged. The mall event engaged <br /> approximately 75 people. Of those 75 <br /> people, approximately half were <br /> considered part of the underserved <br /> population. About half the people <br /> were estimated to be between 25-64, <br /> while the others were split between the 'i <br /> over 65 years of age range or under 25 <br /> years of age range. This event is -" <br /> considered a success in that half of <br /> those engaged were part of the <br /> targeted underserved population.
