Meeting Date: 03/14/2017 By: Tim Gladhill, Community Development Information Title: Receive Progress Report on Comprehensive Plan Update Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case is to receive a brief update on the status of the Comprehensive Plan Update. Details on the City's existing Comprehensive Plan and 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update can be found online at www.cityofrafnsey.com/comprehensiveplan or upon request. Notification: Notification is not required. Observations/Alternatives: The Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee has held three (3) Committee Meetings. The City hosted the first of several workshops as a Kick Off Meeting on Monday, January 27, 2017.Notes from that Workshop are attached for review. The Steering Committee will be meeting next on Monday, March 13 at 5:30 p.m.to prepare for the next Public Workshop (Transportation Plan; Parks and Recreation Plan) as well as a plan for a presence at the April 1 EDA Spring Business Expo and The Draw Summer Event Series. The Steering Committee has also set up a Facebook Page as a communication tool at www.facebook.com/ramsey204O. This page has several photos from the Kick Off Meeting. Upcoming Public Workshops: 1. Monday,April 10 (Transportation Plan;Parks and Recreation Plan) 2. Monday, June 12 (Economic Development Plan,Natural Resources Plan Funding Source: Preparation for the Comprehensive Plan is funded primarily through the City's General Fund. The City also secured a Planning Grant in the amount of$32,000 from the Metropolitan Council. Recommendation: No action being requested. Action: No action being requested.
