Councilmember Williams introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #17-04-088 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SPEED ZONE STUDY FOR SUNFISH LAKE <br /> BOULEVARD/CSAH 57 BETWEEN BUNKER LAKE BOULEVARD/CSAH 116 AND <br /> NOWTHEN BOULEVARD/CSAH 5 <br /> WHEREAS, a property owner along Sunfish Lake Boulevard in the area of 155th <br /> Avenue voiced concerns with the speed of vehicles traveling along Sunfish Lake Boulevard; and <br /> WHEREAS, the posted speed limit on Sunfish Lake Boulevard in the area of 155 ' <br /> Avenue is 55 mph as set by a Speed Zone Study completed in 1975 by the Minnesota <br /> Department of Transportation (MnDOT); and <br /> WHEREAS, development in the area has increased significantly since 1975; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 169.14, the Commissioner of <br /> Transportation is responsible for designating reasonable and safe speed limits; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Anoka County Highway Department has jurisdiction over Sunfish Lake <br /> Boulevard/CSAH 57; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff recommends completing a new Speed Zone Study for the segment of <br /> Sunfish Lake Boulevard/CSAH 57 between Bunker Lake Boulevard/CSAH 116 and Nowthen <br /> Boulevard/CSAH 5. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> 1) The City Engineer is hereby ordered to submit a request to the Anoka County Highway <br /> Department to complete a Speed Zone Study for Sunfish Lake Boulevard/CSAH 57 <br /> between Bunker Lake Boulevard/CSAH 116 and Nowthen Boulevard/CSAH 5. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> LeTourneau, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember Williams <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Shryock <br />
