AUTHORIZATION TO RECRUIT FOR A PATROL OFFICER <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Thc Police Chief has expressed a need for an additional patrol officer for 2004. That <br />need is based upon an increase in calls for service, an increase in business and residential <br />development and the need for additional shift coverage. With Council approval, staff <br />would like authorization to begin the recruitment process for a new patrol officer. <br /> <br />Thc Police Chief has indicated that this position will be funded by the general fund for <br />the remainder of the 2004 budget year. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Council grant authorization to begin the recruitment process <br />fora Patrol Officer. <br /> <br />Committee Action <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council grant authorization to begin the recruitment <br />process for a patrol officer. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />Police Chief <br />Poi ice Captain <br /> <br />PC: 09-28-04 <br /> <br />G:~Administralion\HumanResources\Recruitment\Police\09-04 Officer Recruitment\auth to create eligibility list to hire patrol officer, doc <br /> <br /> <br />
