FC~ AMENDMENT OF THE 2004 SCHEDULE OF RATES, FEES AND CHARGES By: Diana Lund, Finance Officer Background: The City of Ramsey's 2004 schedule of rates, fees and charges was adopted by City Council on November 25, 2003. Amendments to this schedule were taken at the City Council meetings of December 9, 2003 and February 22, 2004, August 10, 2004 and Septmnber 13, 2004. Sewer and water trunk charges were amended at the August 10, 2004 City Council meeting to $1,800 per sewer connection and $2,325 per water connection which were the rates recommended by Bolton & Menk as part of their Comprehensive Sewer and Water Plan. After a developer came forward at the August 24, 2004, City Council meeting, regarding the sharp increase in fees, time implementation, etc., Council chose to look at the amended fees and see if they should be gradually implemented. At the City Council meeting of September 13, 2004, Council adopted an amendment of the rates to reflect a 25% increase of those rates previously amended on August 10, 2004. After much discussion about developer notification and an update of the City's water fund cash flow, it was determined that it would be more prudent to implement any increase in sewer and water trunk rates on January 1, 2005. 2004 2004 2004 2004 Adopted Amended Amended Amended 8/10/04 9/13/04 9/28/04 (25%) Water $1,327/unit $2,325/unit $1,577/unit $1,327/unit Sewer $596/unit $1,800/unit $897/unit $596/unit The adoption of the 2005 schedule of rates and charges will be brought forward to City Council in approximately one month.
