<br />MAYORANDCOUNC~INPUT <br /> <br />1) Council Updates <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reported the following: <br />· Councilmembers that will be attending the golf tournament dinner on August l71h need to <br />infonn staff. <br />· The governor did not get support from his party at the Northstar meeting today. It is <br />hopeful that the Met Council will approve the funding tomorrow. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman announced the Minnesota State Supreme Court came out in favor <br />of Met Council and against the city of Lake Elmo. He stated he still believes in local <br />govcrnment and thinks the decision is incorrect. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired about the status of Sunfish Lake Park. Public Works Director <br />Kapler replied he will research this and include it in the Weekly Update. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec requested an update on Elmcrest Park and the construction of the roads. Assistant <br />Public Works Director Olson reported all the grading for the roadway is complete. There was a <br />lot of clay and about the only cost savings they will have on the roadway is from the few spots <br />where the geotextile fabric was not needed under the road. The construction is still on schedule <br />and they will start to see major improvements in the next few weeks. At this time the project is <br />about] 5 to 20 percent complete. <br /> <br />ADJ 0 U R.J~MENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, second by Councilmember Cook, to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion canied. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Cook, Elvig, Strommen, <br />and Zimmern1an. Voting No: None.
