Councilmember Williams introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #17-04-087 RESOLUTION TO HIRE SEASONAL PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKERS AND AN ENGINEERING INTERN WHEREAS, annually the City employs seasonal public works maintenance workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, and Utilities Divisions of Public Works and interns to work in Administrative Services, Community Development, Engineering, and Parks; and WHEREAS , staff has found a significant benefit to seasonal public works maintenance workers and interns; and WHEREAS , staff selected 1 qualified entry level seasonal candidate; and WHEREAS, staff selected 2 qualified semi-entry level seasonal candidates to work in the recently established semi-entry level seasonal role as allowed by the 2017 - 2018 AFSCME labor agreement; and WHEREAS , staff selected 1 qualified intern; and WHEREAS, candidates passed the pre-employment screening; and all WHEREAS, staff recommends hiring the selected 2017 candidates listed below. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: Motion to adopt resolution #17-04-087 to hire the following employees: 1) Entry level seasonal employee: Returning for the second year or greater: Taylor Moshier at $10.50 per hour with start date on or near April 3, 2017. 2) Semi-entry level seasonal employees: Tim Barrett and Tom Marks at $16.91 per hour with a start date on or near April 3, 2017. 3) Engineering Intern: Ben Vrchota at $13.50 per hour with start date on or near May 22, 2017. The motion for the adoption of the `foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember LeTourneau, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Strommen Councilmember Williams Councilmember LeTourneau Councilmember Johns Councilmember Kuzma Councilmember Riley Councilmember Shryock
