<br />Councilmember Williams introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #17-05-113 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MAY AS BUILDING SAFETY MONTH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City of Ramsey proclaims the month of May to be Building Safety <br />Month; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Building Inspection Division staff at the City of Ramsey, together with <br />the International Code Council, bring their expertise to create and to implement the highest-quality <br />codes to protect citizens and property in our community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the International Code Council sponsors Building Safety Month every year <br />in May to remind the public of the importance of the work that the Building Inspection Division <br />staff does, year-round to ensure our businesses and homes remain safe and sound; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />in observance of Building Safety Month, citizens are asked to consider <br />projects to improve building safety and sustainability and to acknowledge the essential services <br />provided by the City of Ramsey’s Building Inspection Division. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />1)That the Ramsey City Council hereby proclaims May as Building Safety Month. <br /> <br /> <br />2)That in observance of Building Safety Month, citizens are asked to consider projects to <br />improve building safety and sustainability and to acknowledge the essential services <br />provided by the City of Ramsey’s Building Inspection Division. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember Williams <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Shryock <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
