MEMO <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />October 13, 2004 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Megan Wald and Sean Sullivan <br /> <br />RE: Staff Update <br /> <br />Town Center: Nothing new to report at this time. <br /> <br />New Business Prospects: <br /> <br />T & D Holdings (TLM Cabinets) will be constructing a 10,070 S.F. project on the Morrell site <br />this fall. The development agreement is signed and a site plan has been submitted and approved. <br />A closing should occur during the week of October 18th, 2004 <br /> <br />The City is still waiting for a response from the RFP submitted in July for an unnamed 100,000 <br />S.F. manufacturer. Updates will be provided when new information is available. Staff is <br />recommending property located in Sunfish Lake Business Park to the prospective business. <br /> <br />New Developments (residential and commercial): <br /> <br />Staff anticipates that the City Council will review the site plan for Automated EDM at their <br />October 12, 2004 meeting. The applicant would like to construct a 11,000 square foot addition <br />onto their existing facility. <br /> <br />Business Grand Openings;,. None to report at this time. <br /> <br />Marketing Initiatives: Attached to the update is a list of businesses that were mailed the <br />Balancing Growth and Don't Break the Bank piece several months ago. Staff would suggest <br />mailing the marketing pieces to the same recipients in an attempt to keep Ramsey fresh in their <br />minds when thinking about future development plans. Staff will bring the 2004 Book of Lists <br />published by the Business Monthly magazine in the event the EDA would like to add any names <br />or businesses to the current direct mailing list. <br /> <br />Business Communication Initiatives: The Business Connection is being printed as this case is <br />being written. Staff will bring copies of the newsletter to the October meeting. A PDF file of the <br />newsletter is attached. <br /> <br />EDA Projects:, <br /> <br />Douglas and Gary Hanson (Bakestar Property): Purchase Agreement is signed and the closing <br />will take place prior to October 31, 2004 <br /> <br />Business Tour: Reminder that the Business Tour is scheduled for 1:00pm on October 13, 2004. <br />Please plan to attend, it is important to have EDA representation. <br /> <br /> <br />
