Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #17-05-114 RESOLUTION TO HIRE SEASONAL PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKERS WHEREAS, annually the City employs seasonal public works maintenance workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, and Utilities Divisions of Public Works; and WHEREAS, staff has found a significant benefit to seasonal public works maintenance workers; and WHEREAS, staff selected 5 qualified entry level seasonal candidates; and WHEREAS, all candidates passed the pre -employment screening; and WHEREAS, staff recommends hiring the selected 2017 candidates listed below. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: Motion to adopt resolution #17-05-114 to hire the following employees: 1. Entry level seasonal employee: Kylie Bloch a $10.00 per hour with a start date on or near May 11, 2017. 2. Entry level seasonal employees: Returning for the second year: Bradley Beaver and Jacob Vanness at $10.25 per hour with a start date on or near May 15, 2017. 3. Entry level seasonal employee: Returning for the sixth year: Jacob Marks at $10.50 per hour with a start date on or near May 17, 2017. 4. Entry level seasonal employee: Returning for the third year: Ethan Scheuring at $10.50 per hour with a start date on or near May 24, 2017. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 23rd day of May, 2017.
