lour 1111.1siion: To work together to reiposibty grow our community, and to provide quality, coat -effective, and efficient government ierrlcas. <br />CC Regular Session 7. 7. <br />Meeting Date: 05/23/2017 <br />By: Bruce Westby, Engineering/Public <br />Works <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution #17-05-122 Accepting Quotes and Awarding Contract for Improvement Project #17-12, Soil <br />Borings and Geotechnical Reports - 2018 & 2019 Reconstruction and Overlay Improvements <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose <br />The purpose of this case is adopt Resolution #17-05-122 accepting quotes and awarding a contract for <br />Improvement Project #17-12, Soil Borings and Geotechnical Reports - 2018 & 2019 Reconstruction and Overlay <br />Improvements. <br />Background: <br />Approximately 9.2 miles of streets are proposed to be reconstructed and/or milled and overlaid in 2018 and 2019, <br />which are the last 2 years remaining in the current 5-year Street Reconstruction and Overlay Program bond issue. <br />To assist in developing these proposed improvements, and to assist in evaluating ground penetrating radar results <br />addressed in an earlier case, staff submitted Requests for Proposals for completing soil borings and preparing <br />Geotechnical Reports to Braun Intertec Corporation and American Engineering Testing, Inc. on May 5th. Both <br />firms submitted proposals on May 16th. <br />Quotes received from each firm are shown below. <br />Contractor I Total Quote <br />Braun Intertec Corp. I $9,686 <br />American Engineering Testing, Inc. <br />I$13,100 <br />Braun Intertec submitted the lowest responsible quote. Based on the submitted quotes, staff recommends awarding <br />a contract to Braun Intertec Corporation. <br />The Contractor is required to maintain minimum insurance coverages, and all work shall be carried out during <br />normal working hours from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, in accordance with City ordinances. <br />The Contractor shall complete their work by August 11, 2017, which will allow staff to complete Feasibility <br />Reports for all 2018 street reconstruction and mill and overlay projects by September so plans can be prepared and <br />bids can be solicited for this work in a timely manner. <br />Notification: <br />No notifications are required with this case. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />
