CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Members Absent: <br />Also Present: <br />1. <br />Mayor Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Jill Johns <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Councilmember Chris Riley <br />Councilmember Melody Shryock <br />Councilmember Kristine Williams <br />Councilmember John LeTourneau <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Police Chief Jeff Katers <br />Public Works Superintendent Grant Riemer <br />City Clerk Jo Ann Thieling <br />City Engineer Bruce Westby <br />City Planner Chris Anderson <br />Asst. City Administrator/Economic Development Manager Patrick Brama <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Strommen called the regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council to order at 7:05 p.m., <br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Strommen. <br />2. PRESENTATION <br />2.01: Proclamation Declaring May as Building Safety Month <br />Mayor Strommen read aloud the proclamation declaring May as building safety month. She <br />noted that the proclamation would be adopted as part of the Consent Agenda. She stated that this <br />is important because a lot of people think permits are an annoyance but noted that the permits <br />ensure safety. She thanked the building department for their continued efforts. <br />Katy Hauan, Building Department, stated that the City is in process of developing the electronic <br />plan review which would have less delays, would be more efficient and streamlined, and would <br />help conservation efforts as well. <br />Ellen Krueger, Building Department, stated that they are excited where this will take the City <br />and provide both the residents and staff with efficiency, convenience, and safety. <br />City Council / May 9, 2017 <br />Page 2 of 11 <br />
