This segment of roadway is identified as a collector route in the City's <br />comprehensive plan. Staff recommends that this petition be forwarded to the Anoka County <br />Publics Works Committee for consideration. <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council forward the petition requesting a reduction in the speed <br />limit along Baugh Street from CR 63 (173rd Avenue) to CR 22 (181st Avenue) from the current <br />speed limit of 55 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour to the Anoka County Publics Works <br />Committee for consideration. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Council action was taken on this case at the September 28, 2004 Council meeting. <br /> <br />Case #4 <br /> <br />Receive Petition for Ebony Street Improvements <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the June 15th Public Works Committee meeting a petition was received by three property <br />owners on Ebony Street requesting improvements on Ebony Street between 137th Avenue and <br />Riverdale Drive. The Committee referred the petition to the City Attorney to determine its <br />validity. The City Attorney recommended a revision in the wording of the petition. The original <br />petitioners have signed and submitted this revised petition. The improvements requested <br />include; extension of the sanitary sewer, looping of the watermain between 137th Avenue and <br />Riverdale Drive, curb and gutter, and street resurfacing. The City code states that a project may <br />be initiated by a petition of at least 35% in number of the abutting property owners. There are a <br />total of nine properties, of which four are owned by the petitioners. <br /> <br />Staff recommends that a feasibility study for the petition improvements be directed upon <br />verification of the petition signatures by the City Clerk <br /> <br />Motion to recommend to City Council that a feasibility study for the petition improvements be <br />directed upon verification of the petition signatures by the City Clerk <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #5 <br /> <br />Snow Removal Issues in Ramsey Town Center <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Committee discussed the issues of the level of service provided in RTC, parking restrictions <br />and enforcement in RTC, and snow storage. The following was determined: <br /> <br />A first pass through of snow plowing should be done by the City in front of businesses <br />and residences. <br /> c> It was discussed whether there should be a charge for this service or whether the <br /> special taxing district would cover this cost. <br /> <br /> <br />
