My question to
you is there a time frame for
the proposed trial between the existing trail on Apline and to Central Park on Varolite or Armstrong Blvd to be
constructed?

The traffic has gotten to the point that I won't bring my family to Central Park via the shoulder of either Varolite or
Armstrong Blvd, not to
mention the number of cars passing on the shoulder. During this past soccer season it was strange to drive 2
blocks to the park when we live so close.
I feel bad that I have to take a parking spot when parking is a issue when we could easily walk or bike there.

When I look at the big picture Central Park is the city's largest park (the new elm crest park may be larger?) and
there is not one trail that leads to it with exception to the little piece from the parking lot to Armstrong Blvd. I know
this trail has been on the map for some time now and with the trail at Alpine now would seem like the time to bring
the trial 5 blocks from Alpine to Central Park.

On another note keep up the good work, my family enjoys the Itasca trail. We go down to the entrance at Okpia
St. then take the trial down to Alpine then do the complete trail back to 167th then back to the entrance on
Okpia, according to the GPS its about 8-9miles, just a perfect night time ride, all we have to do is cross Armstrong
to get to it.

If you like you can give me a call at my work number below.

Thanks

10/8/2004
