Ms. Hi llary inquired as to when the issue would be addressed.

City Engineer Jankowski replied that the Case would be added to the June 17th Public Works
Committee agenda.

Ms. Hillary inquired if the issue will then be placed on the next City Council meeting following
the Public Works meeting. She explained that she was concerned with having the construction
traffic driving 50 mph.

City Engineer Jankowski noted that it would still be some time before the new development will
begin construction.

Ms. Hillary inquired if the residents can be assured that the issue will not be tabled again.

The Committee assured the residents that the issue would be addressed at the June Public Works
Committee meeting.

APPROVEAGENDA

Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to approve the
agenda adding Case A: Tiger Street Speed Reduction Request.

Motion carried. Voting No:
Councihnen~ber Cook.

COMMITTEE BUSINESS

Case A:

Tiger Street Speed Reduction Request

The Public Works Committee directed staff to notify residents within the typical notification area
of the speed reduction request and add the case to the June Public Works Committee meeting.

Councilmember Cook stated that it was unfair for the Public Works Committee to not address
the case because of one guy disagreeing with the request when everyone from Tiger Street was
present. Especially since staff had informed Ms. Hillary that the Case was going to be on the
May Public Works Committee agenda. He also noted that the City does not typically send out
public notices when they are going to change the speed limit.

Councihnember Zimmerman replied that after all of his years of serving on the Planning
Commission and the City Council he has learned that they are much better off to follow the
proper procedures.

City Engineer Jankowski noted that he did give verbal notice to Ms. Hillary that the issue was
going to be addressed tonight but it was pulled due to time constraints.

Public Works Committee/May 20, 2003
